Geary Leathers, the managing director of American Golf (UK) Limited will shortly be returning to the United States to continue in an AGC regional operations role in the eastern US. “After six years here in the UK I look forward to returning to Atlanta and continuing my career with American Golf,” states Leathers. “I have been extremely proud of being part of the UK team that has provided AGC with both meteoric growth and a solid platform to flourish international opportunities.”

Replacing Leathers is David Seidl, a fifteen-year AGC veteran and senior executive. He is no stranger to the AG-UK operations as he was the principal operations executive who started AGC’s first international venture in the United Kingdom in mid 1993. “I look forward with great enthusiasm to rejoining the AG-UK team,” stated Seidl. “From our humble beginnings in 1993 I have followed the growth and prominence of the UK region closely.”

In February David and his wife Gloria will be arriving to take up residence at their English home and Leathers expects to commence his new US duties in mid March. The AG-UK properties now total 21 (33.5 18 hole equivalents) and the stated goal is to exceed 40 courses, clubs and resorts by the end of 2003. European continent expansion, which will be supported by the AG-UK offices, is expected in 2001 with “numerous opportunities existing” in Spain, Portugal, France, Germany and Switzerland.
