The PGA of America has named Laura Frick, PGA as Championship Director for the 2029 Ryder Cup, to be played September 24-30, 2029 at Hazeltine National Golf Club in Chaska, Minnesota.

Frick—the first female PGA of America Member to serve as a championship director for the Ryder Cup—will guide all onsite operations, community engagement and strategic planning. She most recently served as Championship Director for the 2026 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship played at Hazeltine National in June.

“We are proud to have Laura lead our efforts as we prepare to host the 2029 Ryder Cup,” said David Charles, PGA of America Senior Director of Championships. “Hazeltine National will host golf’s greatest team event for the second time, adding another significant chapter to the Ryder Cup’s storied history. Laura’s experience at Hazeltine, event-management expertise and passion for the Ryder Cup will be instrumental as we work to deliver an exceptional Ryder Cup experience for players, spectators and the Minnesota community.”

Now in her 10th year with the PGA of America, Frick served as the Player Engagement team’s Director of Competitions from 2021-24 when she oversaw the PGA Jr. League Championships and All-Star seasons.

Frick also managed the National Collegiate Club Golf Association and competitive programs, working closely with PGA of America Golf Professionals to engage golfers in their local communities. She began her PGA of America career as a championship coordinator in the Member Championships department in 2017.

“Hazeltine has a rich legacy in hosting PGA of America Championships and returning with this premier global golf event is truly special,” said Frick. “The Ryder Cup brings world-class energy like nothing else in sports and we are eager to set the stage for an incredible event in 2029.”

Frick, a Hudsonville, Michigan, native, graduated from Ferris State University’s PGA Golf Management program in 2015.

Hazeltine National will make history as the first American venue to host a second Ryder Cup following the U.S. team’s resounding 17–11 victory there in 2016.

The 2027 Ryder Cup will be contested September 13-19 at Adare Manor in Limerick, Ireland, marking the 100-year anniversary of the biennial team competition.
